Ti-Ni alloy is a typical shape memory alloy material, which is an intermetallic compound with approximately equal atomic stroke. The density of Ti-Ni alloy is 6.45g/cm3, and its melting point is 1240-1310 ℃. There are two phases in crystal structure: martensite and austenite, which can be transformed into each other under certain conditions, showing shape memory effect and superelasticity in the process. Almost all interventional medical devices with nickel-titanium alloy are ingenious use of these two valuable properties.
As a material for the preparation of interventional instruments, Ni-Ti alloy is mainly used in organisms, which must meet not only the reliability of mechanical properties, but also the reliability of chemistry, biology and biochemistry. and whether it is compatible with organisms and look at thrombosis, antigenicity and so on.

Excerpt from ASTM F 67 Standard Specifification for Unalloyed Titanium, for Surgical Implant Applications (UNS R50250, UNS R50400, UNS R50550, UNS R50700)
7. Chemical Composition 7.1 The heat analysis shall conform to the chemical composition of Table 1. Ingot analysis may be used for reporting all chemical requirements, except hydrogen. Samples for hydrogen shall be taken from the fifinished mill product. Supplier shall not ship material with chemistry outside the requirements specifified in Table 1 for the applicable grade. 7.1.1 Requirements for the major and minor elemental constituents are listed in Table 1. Also listed are important residual elements. Analysis for elements not listed in Table 1 is not required to verify compliance with this specifification.
